Palm Harbor University High School Invitational                 February 22, 2020

Palm Harbor is EXCITED to host the February Invitational!

We will run the competition like the previous year’s competitions.

No limit on the number of students taking the Individual test ($10 each test)               Check made payable to PHU MAO.

If students are not on the team, they may take the Open test as their other round.

1.  Postmarked deadline for the completion is Feb 8, 2020.                                           Mail your registration and money to:                                                                                Palm Harbor University High School,                                                                                  Mu Alpha Theta                                                                                                                 1900 Omaha Street,                                                                                                        Palm Harbor, FL 34683                                                                                                       Attn:  Amanda Mandurano

 2. We can only seat one team per division, except for Statistics and Algebra 1 (we will seat as many 3 or 4 person teams as possible, so register early).                                       For the extra “non-team” members we will have a THETA (Geometry and Algebra 2) Open test and an ALPHA (Pre-Calculus and Calculus) Open test.  PLEASE ENTER NUMBERS!

These questions come directly from past practice tests. Trophies will be given.

These tests are FREE - register the number needed online.                                               DO NOT count the students that are sitting for the team-round for this test.

 3. Please bring your highlighted enrollment list as downloaded from www.floridamao.org with the participating competitors’ names and ID#s highlighted.

 4. Testing will start PROMPTLY at 9am so be in your room by 8:55 am.  We will have Individual tests for Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Pre-Calculus, Calculus and Statistics.

5. LATE REGISTRATIONS. You MUST email and ask if this will be allowed and the price.   IF you have already registered and you are adding on some students here and there, that is very DIFFERENT than REGISTERING a WHOLE school late. E-mail us. :)

6. Malls are not really “close” to PHUHS.                                                                         Pizza will be sold day of the competition for $10 for pepperoni or cheese, includes tax and delivery. Enter number and cheese or pepperoni ONLINE.  Money is due by 9AM on February 22, 2020.  (CASH ONLY)       PLEASE Do NOT include this $$ in the check.

Please enter the correct number of pizzas on the online registration.

We will also sell snacks and drinks for students in the courtyard.

March Regional II [Region 1, 2, 3, 4]Saturday, March 21, 2020

Dunbar High School is pleased to welcome Mu Alpha Theta Member and Sponsors from regions 1, 2, 3, and 4 for the March 21 competition.

General Registration Information
  • Only 1 team allowed (except algebra 1)
    • There will be no limit to the number of individual competitors.  However, due to the fact that we will have 4 regions in attendance, for now we will be restricting to 1 team per division.  Depending on enrollment numbers, we may allow additional teams in the Statistics division.  If you would like to field more than 1 statistics team, email me directly at phillipds@leeschools.net, and I let you know if we have space the week before the event.
  • Begin registration online early (prefer month in advance)
    • Please begin registration as soon as you know you will be attending a minimum of 2 weeks before the event.  Even if you partially complete the registration a month in advance, it at least gives me a general headcount of schools  before the event to allow ample time for copies and room arrangements.  The final registration must be submitted and post marked 2 weeks before the event (3/7/2020).  Submitting after this point will result in late fees as outline in the website.
  • Bring Highlighted Roster
    • Bring highlighted roster with student FAMAT ID and division from your schools download area on floridamao.org
  • Sponsor Jobs - Please Pick Preferences
    • If you normally help in scoring/disputes, then I would greatly appreciate your assistance in those areas again.  Please email me directly at phillipds@leeschools.net if you are willing and able to help in those areas.  All others, anticipate having 2 roles so please pick what you would like to be doing.
  • Send Printed Registration and Check
    • Send all money directly to my schools bookkeeper.  Pizza is available at $10 a pizza.  The preference is to preorder it with the registration.  If you have any last minute changes then please bring cash the day of an email me at least a couple days before the event in order to ensure that we are able to get the order for you.
